Job summary

CareTech is recruiting a Residential Childcare Worker for waking nights at Lavender home in Cottam, Preston. You will support children with daily routines, provide emotional support, and help create a safe, homely environment.

We require a full UK driving licence and are unable to offer sponsorship. The role is 42 hours per week at £31,427 per year, with opportunities to develop qualifications and progress within the company.

Qualifications

• Previous experience is preferred or maybe you have cared for a younger friend or family member.
• Ability to work towards a Level 4 qualification in Children's Residential Care
• Manual UK driving licence is essential to use company cars
• Open to ongoing development and learning with support form your manager, your team and the company
• Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
• Ability to work day shifts with overnight sleep-ins at the service, you will be away from home for a few days at a time

• Ensure our children receive the highest level of support and encouragement
• Support senior staff with timely updates and feedback
• Work as a team, we all support each other
• Promote individuality NOT a "one size fits all" approach
• Complete and update care plans regularly, updating with any additional requirements
• Be part of a welcoming, homely environment by helping with light housekeeping
• Build strong, meaningful relationships and provide emotional support to our young people
• Plan and join fun activities like day trips & activities, holidays away, popcorn & movie nights or creative projects
