Residential Childcare Worker Waking Nights
Location: Cottam, Preston PR3
£31,427 per annum 42 hours per week
A full UK Manual driving licence is required and we are unable to offer sponsorship for this vacancy.
With ROC Northwest, you're not just working - you're shaping futures because as a Residential Support Worker every moment you spend with our young people helps them to feel safe, valued and supported.
A simple "How was your day?" or a shared laugh playing a game, being someone to listen and offer encouragement on a tough day. All these small interactions build trust, encourage communication and help to shape lives. Some days will be challenging but every breakthrough, every smile and every step forward will remind you why you truly matter in vulnerable children's lives.
You'll be supporting young people with their daily routines like helping to ensure they get ready for school or college each morning, getting ready for meal times, checking on how their day went and planning activities in and around the home. Making sure care plans are up to date is essential and the children must feel their feedback and ideas are heard, this is their home.
You need to be someone who genuinely cares and wants to make that difference. Consistency in a child's life is essential and you will be part of that consistency. This is not a stopgap job. The children need to see you are here for them through the bigger picture. Be warm, patient, be a great listener and offer those words of encouragement our young people need to hear. Stay focused on achieving outcomes for our children and take pride in knowing you are helping to shape someone's life for the better.
Lavender is specially adapted to meet the needs of children with complex needs who require support to fulfil their potential. We offer a therapeutic and holistic experience to ensure all children's needs are met. We have a diverse staff team who understand trauma and how this can impact children and their development.
We understand that children's childhoods may differ, but in Lavender our aim is to be an inclusive home, that encompasses individuality, inclusivity and inspire all children to dream big and believe anything is possible!!
We have a purpose-built sensory room, a home gym and wellbeing suite. Each child will have access to communal spaces within the home, and their own en-suite bedroom, which we encourage them to personalise to their tastes. We also have the opportunity to partner up with a local holding farm, where children can help care for the animals and take horse riding lessons or walk the donkeys around the land.
CareTech is committed to the safeguarding and welfare of children. All applicants must pass an enhanced DBS check and provide references covering the past two years and all previous roles involving vulnerable groups.
CareTech Community Services are proud to be a Disability Confident Leader.
