Job summary

Academics Ltd is recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a welcoming mainstream primary school in Stroud, Gloucestershire. You will work across Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 or 2 to support learning, development and wellbeing, under the guidance of class teachers.

This full‑time role runs 8:30am to 3:30pm, with a daily rate of 90–105, and offers an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or aspiring teacher to gain valuable classroom experience and broaden their understanding of the National

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A caring, patient and enthusiastic approach.
• The ability to build positive relationships with children and staff.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering engaging and well-planned lessons across the curriculum.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils where required.
• Support children's learning across core subjects including Maths and English.
• Assist with foundation subjects such as Geography, PE and other areas of the curriculum.
• Help create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
• Encourage children to develop confidence, independence and a positive attitude towards learning.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils and provide appropriate emotional and pastoral support.
• Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, behavioural needs and learning difficulties.
• Assist with classroom organisation, preparation and general learning activities.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and other members of the school team.
• Encourage positive behaviour and support the school's behaviour management strategies.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school and promote a safe, welcoming learning environment.
