Job summary

Carterton Community College is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our supportive staff. This full-time role (27.5 hours per week over 5 days) offers a meaningful opportunity to make a real difference in students' lives in a welcoming school community.

You will support learning in classrooms, help students with SEND, and collaborate with teachers to meet diverse needs. A GCSE in English and Maths and prior experience with young people are required.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at minimum.
• Experience working with young people in an educational setting.
• Ability to support learning in a classroom.

Responsibilities

• Provide essential support for students with diverse needs within the classroom and SEND bases.
• Collaborate closely with teachers to adapt your approach to meet pupil needs.
• Build trusting relationships with students to encourage social and educational development.
• Contribute to planning and review discussions concerning students with SEND.
• Assist students with activities outside the classroom, such as school trips and exam support (reader/scribe).
