Job summary

St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Carterton is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our warm, dedicated team to support children with SEND and help them access learning with confidence and independence.

The role is part-time, 30 hours per week, term-time only, with a permanent contract pending a probationary period. There is flexibility to support after-school clubs and contribute to the wider life of the school.

Qualifications

• Hold a Teaching Assistant qualification or have comparable relevant experience, ideally of at least two years.
• Experience of, or genuine passion for, supporting children with SEND and additional needs.
• Excellent communication, literacy and numeracy skills.
• Commitment to developing children's independence rather than creating reliance on adult support.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality support for children with SEND to access learning.
• Support and deliver after-school club provision when required.
• Help develop children's confidence, independence and access to learning.
• Collaborate with staff to implement inclusive approaches and contribute to the wider life of the school.
