Job summary

Reading Borough Council’s Advice and Wellbeing Hub supports adults, carers and professionals to access timely, person-centred guidance. You’ll deliver short‑term interventions, focusing on independence, wellbeing and safe living in the community.

You will work within a supportive, inclusive team, applying your social work expertise to assess needs, plan outcomes and promote recovery, with opportunities for professional development and practice growth.

Qualifications

• Experience applying the Care Act 2014 in practice.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with adults and carers.
• Ability to work within legal and statutory frameworks and multi‑agency settings.

Responsibilities

• Complete strengths-based Care Act assessments.
• Undertake Mental Capacity assessments.
• Coordinate best interest decisions and safeguarding enquiries as needed.
• Provide clear, practical Advice, information and guidance.
• Manage a short-term, varied caseload to boost wellbeing and independence.
