Job summary

Reading Borough Council is seeking a Social Worker for the Advice and Wellbeing Hub in Reading, England. You will be the first point of contact for adults, carers and professionals, delivering short-term interventions that promote independence and wellbeing.

You will complete Care Act and Mental Capacity assessments, manage safeguarding enquiries, and provide practical guidance while developing your CPD portfolio within a supportive, Disability Confident employer environment.

Qualifications

• Registration with Social Work England.
• Social Work degree or equivalent.
• Good knowledge of the Care Act 2014.

Responsibilities

• Complete strengths-based Care Act assessments.
• Undertake Mental Capacity assessments.
• Coordinate best interests decisions when needed.
• Manage safeguarding enquiries as required.
• Provide clear, practical advice and guidance.
• Manage a short-term, varied caseload to boost wellbeing.
