Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school in Hyde, working within their SEND unit. The role involves supporting pupils with complex SEND needs on a 1:1 basis and delivering tailored assistance to meet individual learning goals.

You'll work closely with the class teacher, SEND team and other professionals to provide consistent support, helping pupils develop social, emotional and communication skills while managing behaviour

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND, ideally within a SEND unit.
• 1:1 support experience with pupils.
• Calm, patient approach; ability to manage challenging behaviour.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support within the SEND unit.
• Support children with complex SEND needs, including challenging behaviour.
• Help pupils engage with learning and develop social, emotional and communication skills.
• Work closely with the class teacher, the SEND team and other professionals to provide consistent support.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour throughout the school day.
• Assist with planning tailored activities and learning supports.
