Job summary

Monarch Education is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Kings Heath, Birmingham. You will support children with various needs, including ASC, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties, helping them access learning.

The role involves one-to-one and small group support, assisting with IEPs, promoting positive behaviour, and building strong relationships with pupils, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEND in school, nursery, or care setting.
• Patient, nurturing and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding safeguarding procedures.
• Ability to tailor support to individual pupil needs.
• CACHE Level 2/3 TA or equivalent is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for SEND pupils.
• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Help implement IEPs and personalised learning strategies.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, teachers, and external professionals.
• Support pupils with communication, social interaction, and independence skills.
• Ensure the safety and welfare of all pupils at all times.
