Job summary

Milk Education is working with a large SEND specialist provision in the Guildford area to recruit SEND Support Workers who genuinely want to make a positive difference in the lives of children and young people with a range of profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD).

This role is suited to individuals who are patient, caring and passionate about supporting children to feel safe, understood and included in their learning.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with complex needs (PMLD).
• Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to apply.
• Patient, caring and calm approach to supporting others.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils aged 5–19 with a range of PMLD.
• Support with the delivery of Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Encourage emotional wellbeing, communication and social development.
• Communicate clearly with teachers, other school staff and external professionals.
• Support with personal care if required: Moving and Handling, Toileting, PEG Feeding (training provided).
• Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
