Job summary

Remedy Education is supporting a well-resourced SEN school in Harlow seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 and small group support across both primary and secondary aged pupils.

The role focuses on assisting communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning, while following EHCP targets and personal care where needed. A patient, calm approach and collaboration with staff are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ASD, ADHD or complex needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Comfortable working across primary and secondary age groups.
• Confident supporting non-verbal or limited communication pupils.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes.
• Supporting communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
• Following EHCP targets and individual support plans.
• Assisting with personal care where required.
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
• Helping maintain a calm, structured and positive learning environment.
• Encouraging independence, confidence and social development.
