Job summary

Randstad UK is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a secondary school in the S2 district of Sheffield. You will support students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, delivering 1:1 and small-group sessions to help pupils stay focused and access subject content while building emotional resilience.

Ideal candidates will have UK school experience with SEN/SEMH, provide pastoral guidance, and employ de-escalation techniques.

Qualifications

• Experience with secondary pupils with SEN or SEMH in a UK school environment.
• Assist across core subjects while providing pastoral guidance.
• Confident in positive de-escalation techniques (Team Teach or similar).
• Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with disengaged learners.
• Enhanced DBS with Update Service and safeguarding clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support students across KS3/KS4 in 1:1 and small groups.
• Help pupils stay focused and access subject content.
• Provide pastoral guidance and mentoring to learners.
• Contribute to safeguarding and behavioural expectations within school.
