Randstad Education Leeds is partnering with a mainstream primary school in South Yorkshire to recruit an empathetic and resilient SEN support assistant for a full-time position starting this term.

You will work with children with ASC, ADHD and challenging behaviour, using IEPs, EHCP targets, PECS/Makaton, and visual schedules to create a calm, safe learning space. The role emphasises collaboration and ongoing CPD.

Qualificações

• Experience supporting children with SEND, sensory processing needs or challenging behaviour.
• Patient, calm, and highly resilient with strong de-escalation skills.
• GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4+) or equivalent.
• DBS Enhanced with Update Service or willingness to apply.
• Team Teach certification or SEN training desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Provide dedicated classroom and small-group support for pupils with ASC, ADHD and challenging behaviour.
• Implement structured IEPs and EHCP targets under SENDCo guidance.
• Utilise visual schedules and communication aids (PECS/Makaton) and de-escalation strategies.
• Foster emotional regulation and positive behavioural choices through routines.
