Job summary

Randstad UK is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support primary schools in Sheffield (S2). You will work with pupils in KS1/KS2 who require support with ASC, ADHD, and communication challenges, helping them engage with the curriculum and thrive socially.

UK experience is essential, along with an Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply, and two references. The role offers weekly PAYE pay, CPD access, and supportive guidance from a South Yorkshire education specialist.

Qualifications

• UK experience supporting children with SEN in a UK primary school or educational setting.
• Practical understanding of ASC, ADHD, speech and language delays, or sensory processing needs.
• Calm, positive approach to behaviour support and de-escalation.
• Ability to collaborate with class teachers, the SENCo, and external support specialists.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) and two recent, relevant references.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in KS1/KS2 with ASC, ADHD, and communication needs to engage with the curriculum.
• Collaborate closely with class teachers, the SENCo, and external specialists.
• Assist with behaviour management and creating supportive learning environments.
• Support safeguarding and welfare during placements and school activities.
