Job summary

Monarch Education is recruiting a Science Teacher to join a specialist Alternative Provision in Chesterfield. You will teach KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging, differentiated Science lessons and supporting learners with SEMH, autism and other needs.

The role focuses on building positive relationships, managing behaviour effectively and contributing to EHCP targets within a safe, inclusive classroom. QTS/QTLS is preferred and successful candidates will undergo safeguarding checks.

Qualifications

• QTS/QTLS preferred.
• Experience teaching Science at secondary level.
• Experience in Alternative Provision, PRU or SEND settings desirable.
• Strong behaviour management and rapport-building skills.
• Understanding SEMH, trauma-informed practice and restorative approaches.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Science lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Differentiate learning to meet individual needs and abilities.
• Support learners with SEMH needs, Autism and ADHD.
• Build positive relationships and establish trust with students.
• Identify triggers and implement effective behaviour strategies.
• Monitor and assess student progress.
• Work with pastoral teams, support staff and external professionals.
• Contribute to EHCP targets and personalised learning plans.
• Create a safe, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.
