Job summary

East Midlands Councils/East Midlands Jobs is seeking an experienced Parenting Assessor to support vulnerable children and families. You will complete high-quality parenting assessments, working with parents and carers to promote positive change and safety.

The role requires navigating safeguarding procedures, contributing to multi-agency teams, and preparing detailed analytical reports for meetings. Travel between county service locations is expected as part of the role.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is required.
• Experience assessing children and families within Children’s Services.
• Ability to travel between service locations as required.

Responsibilities

• Undertake high-quality parenting assessments in line with the East Midlands Parenting Assessment Framework Guidance.
• Work with parents and carers, including those who may initially resist engagement.
• Produce accurate records and analytical reports for meetings, including multi-agency or legal settings.
• Identify and manage risk with a clear safeguarding focus.
• Collaborate with partner agencies and connect families with appropriate support.
