Job summary

GSL Education is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for a welcoming primary school in Southampton. This full-time role runs 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday, with a focus on assisting students with additional needs and delivering in-class support across subjects.

Ideal for someone pursuing teacher training, you will work with the SEN team to support progress, develop confidence, and contribute to an inclusive school environment in Southampton.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people or within education is desirable
• Candidates with transferable skills (youth work, coaching, care, mentoring, support work etc.) will also be considered
• Patient, resilient and enthusiastic individuals who enjoy supporting students
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine passion for helping young people succeed

Responsibilities

• Supporting students with additional needs, including those with EHCPs
• Providing in-class support across a range of subjects
• Delivering small-group and 1:1 interventions
• Encouraging confidence, engagement and positive behaviour for learning
• Working closely with teaching staff and the SEN team to support progress
