Job summary

Guardian Homecare in Basildon is recruiting Learning Disability Support Workers to provide high-quality, person-centred support to service users across Basildon and surrounding areas.

Shifts cover day, evening and sleep-in/night patterns, with full-time and part-time opportunities. You’ll help people maintain independence, dignity and a sense of belonging through practical support and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• You don’t need social care experience to join Guardian Homecare.
• Full paid training is provided; a positive attitude, reliability, and drive to champion independence are key.
• Driving is required due to community-based role across SS13, SS14, SS15.

Responsibilities

• Empower individuals to develop essential life skills (cooking, budgeting, household tasks).
• Support community access to college, shopping, hobbies and social activities.
• Provide personal care with dignity (bathing, dressing, grooming).
• Assist with medication: collecting prescriptions, reminders, administration.
• Offer emotional support to build confidence and self-esteem.
• Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate with families and care teams.
