Job summary

Citizens Advice Brent is seeking an experienced Generalist Adviser to join our team. The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week) and permanent, delivering free, accurate advice and casework to Brent residents across welfare benefits, debt, housing and employment.

You will assess clients’ needs, explore options, undertake appropriate casework, support income maximisation and make referrals to specialist services where required.

Qualifications

• Experience providing generalist advice and casework.
• Excellent interviewing and communication skills.
• Strong IT and digital skills.
• Ability to work with people in vulnerable or challenging circumstances.

Responsibilities

• Provide free, accurate and effective advice and casework to Brent residents across welfare benefits, debt, housing and employment.
• Deliver advice face-to-face, by telephone and through digital channels.
• Assess clients’ needs, explore options, undertake appropriate casework and support income maximisation.
• Make referrals to specialist services where required.
