Job summary

MAXIMUS is seeking an Employment Advisor to work with a caseload of customers, helping them overcome barriers to employment and achieve sustained work. You will build strong relationships, motivate clients, and deliver tailored plans that align with individual goals.

You will operate from local hubs and outreach locations, meeting targets and collaborating with local services to address barriers such as health, debt, or training needs. A proactive, customer-centred approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering services to meet contractual and quality standards.
• Fully IT literate with Microsoft Office 365 and modern digital tools.

• Creative problem solving and positive approach to overcoming barriers.
• Ability to plan and organise workload to meet targets and deadlines.
• Welfare to Work sector experience is desirable.
• Employability industry knowledge and recruitment background are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Meet personal performance targets and KPIs.
• Manage a caseload of customers using coaching strategies, preparing for interviews and job searching.
• Undertake in-depth assessments to understand circumstances and barriers.
• Co-produce personalised SMART action plans with sequenced interventions.
• Utilise local specialist services to address issues (substance misuse, debt, health).
• Identify employer recruitment needs and conduct tailored pre-screens and assessments.
• Co-produce effective in-work support plans with participants and employers.
• Participate in continuous service improvement to ensure excellent customer service.
• Comply with policies including data security, safeguarding and health & safety.
• Work from local hubs and outreach locations to increase accessibility.
