Job summary

Remedy Education is recruiting an experienced Early Years Practitioner to work in a busy Stratford Children's Centre in East London.

You will work with children and their families, delivering Early Years activities, home visits and outreach, while forming strong partnerships with schools, nurseries and local services.

A Level 3 qualification in Early Years is required; safeguarding and EYFS knowledge are essential, with an Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Early Years or equivalent.
• Experience with children in Early Years age range.
• Experience working with parents and families.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Support children and families within the Children's Centre.
• Work with parents to improve development, learning and wellbeing.

• Maintain accurate records of visits and safeguarding procedures.

Early Years & Family Support Practitioner - Children's Centre

Location: Startford, East London
Hours: Full-Time

Remedy Education is currently recruiting for an experienced BSiL Early Years Practitioner to work within a busy and supportive Children's Centre in Stratford, East London.

This is a varied Early Years position combining work with young children and their families. The successful practitioner will work closely with parents, carers, Children's Centre staff and other professionals, providing practical Early Years support both within the centre and out in the community.

This role would particularly suit someone who has previously worked within a Children's Centre, Family Hub, Early Help service, nursery outreach team or family support environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Supporting children and families within the Children's Centre.
• Working directly with parents and carers to improve children's development, learning and wellbeing.
• Carrying out home visits and outreach work with families where required.
• Building positive and professional relationships with parents, including families who may be harder to engage.
• Supporting families with their understanding of child development, routines, play and early learning.
• Delivering or supporting Early Years activities, groups and interventions.
• Identifying children or families who may require additional support.
• Supporting Early Help referrals, assessments and recording where appropriate.
• Working closely with nurseries, schools, Children's Centres and other local services.
• Liaising with professionals through multi-agency working.
• Supporting children with additional needs and helping families access appropriate services.
• Maintaining accurate records of visits, interventions, progress and family engagement.
• Following safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times.
• Promoting the EYFS and high-quality early learning within both the centre and home environment.

Requirements

The successful candidate should have:

• A recognised Level 3 qualification in Early Years, Childcare or equivalent.
• Strong experience working with children within the Early Years age range.
• Experience working directly with parents and families.
• Previous Children's Centre, Family Hub, Early Help, outreach or family support experience is highly desirable.
• Confidence carrying out home visits and working independently within the community.
• Good knowledge of the EYFS and child development.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with families from a range of backgrounds.
• Confidence working alongside schools, Early Years settings and external professionals.
• Good written skills for completing records, referrals and family support documentation.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to complete one.
