Job summary

Hednesford Valley High is seeking a Cover Supervisor on a permanent basis. The role is 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, to cover short-term absences and ensure continuous learning. You will work with teachers and support staff to maintain high expectations for student success.

The ideal candidate will have experience with young people, a clean driving licence, and a willingness to train as a Mini-bus driver. A commitment to inclusion and safeguarding is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people, ideally in education or specialist settings.
• Clean driving licence with access to a vehicle for travel between sites.
• Willingness to train as a Mini-bus driver.
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes during short-term absence of teachers and deliver set work.
• Support students to engage with learning and achieve targets.
• Promote a calm, inclusive learning environment.
• Manage student behaviour according to school policies.
• Support implementation of IEPs and personalised learning strategies.
• Build positive relationships with students; model confidence and resilience.
• Provide feedback to staff on student participation and behaviour.
• Complete attendance and reward tracking.
• Use ICT and learning resources to support learning.
• Respond to emergencies following school procedures.
