Job summary

Veritas Education are currently recruiting for confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Huddersfield. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced teaching assistants, youth workers, sports coaches, or anyone looking to gain valuable classroom experience within education.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing a classroom in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students remain engaged with the work

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Confidence in managing groups of young people.
• Strong behaviour management or willingness to develop it.
• Previous experience with children or young people is desirable.
• Flexible and professional approach.
• Interest in education and supporting student development.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Ensure pupils stay on task and complete assigned work.
• Provide support and guidance to students where appropriate.
• Report back to teaching staff on lesson progress and behaviour.
• Build positive relationships with students and school staff.
