Bright Star Talent is currently recruiting experienced Children's Residential Support Workers to work within a residential setting in Lichfield (WS14), supporting children and young people.

This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals with previous experience working with children and young people with complex needs who are confident providing a safe, stable and supportive environment. DBS Enhanced required for this role.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in children's residential care or similar setting is essential.
• Experience in social work, youth work, care or support work is desirable.
• Understanding safeguarding and the needs of vulnerable children is important.
• Confidence supporting children with challenging or complex behaviours.
• Patient, resilient and compassionate approach is required.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential.
• Willingness to work 24-hour shifts; relevant qualifications in Health & Social Care or related area are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• As a Children's Residential Support Worker, provide day-to-day care and support to children and young people in the residential setting.
• Build positive, professional relationships with the young people in your care.
• Support children with emotional, social and behavioural needs.
• Encourage independence and development of life skills.
• Assist with daily routines, appointments, education and activities.
• Manage challenging behaviour calmly following care and behaviour plans.
• Maintain a safe, secure and nurturing environment.
• Complete accurate daily records and reports.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and report concerns.
• Collaborate with social workers, families and other professionals.
• Promote wellbeing and positive outcomes for each child.
