Job summary

Empowering Learning Ltd in Leeds is partnering with a Primary and Secondary Special Needs School to recruit Behaviour Support Workers/Teaching Assistants. The roles are 1:1 or small group support, starting in September, with a temp-to-perm pathway.

Pay is £100–£110 per day, Monday to Friday, school hours 8:30–3:30. The school supports children with Autism, challenging behaviours and communication needs; duties include classroom support and off-site recreational activities.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children with special needs and challenging behaviours.
  • Knowledge of special education practices and strategies.
  • Strong communication with students, parents and colleagues.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Patience, empathy and positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Assist lead teacher with educational programs and activities.
  • Support students with special needs, including those with autism.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help with daily tasks and personal care where needed.
  • Support academic and social development of students.
  • Collaborate on Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to the lead teacher.
  • Assist with classroom and behaviour management strategies.
