Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Cardiff is recruiting dedicated staff to support learners who may display challenging behaviour in a school setting. You will provide consistent adult guidance, helping pupils succeed through structured support.

Experience from Prison Service, Probation, Youth Justice or similar environments is valued as transferable skills. An enhanced DBS check and EWC registration are required; safeguarding training is provided.

Qualifications

• DBS check is required for this role, with safeguarding training provided.
• Experience in sensitive environments is valued and advantageous.
• Strong communication and team collaboration are essential.

Responsibilities

• Support students within the classroom and/or specialist provision
• Manage and respond calmly to challenging behaviour
• Apply consistent boundaries while maintaining empathy and fairness
• Build positive relationships with learners who may have complex needs
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and behaviour leads
