Job summary

Moxie People in Cardiff is seeking an Assistant Support Worker to listen, advise and support people experiencing homelessness. You will promote client choices and assist in delivering a successful programme within a major project in Cardiff.

This 40-hour-per-week role is a long-term temporary contract, paying £28,538 per year (£13.72 per hour) with shifts on a rolling rota and no night shifts. The role includes a 33-day holiday entitlement and opportunities to cover additional shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with vulnerable people, or those who have been through homelessness.
• Understanding of trauma and how it can affect behaviours.
• Ability to work with others, encourage them and understand their complex lives.
• Be non-judgemental and empathetic.
• Able to communicate at all levels.
• Willing to cover various shift patterns as described.

Responsibilities

• You’ll work at a major project in Cardiff set up specifically to support and solve homelessness.
• You’ll work within a psychologically informed framework.
• Aiming to deliver zero evictions within the projects.
• Offer post-resettlement support to people.
• Help them move and settle into independent living when ready.
