Job summary

University Hospitals Dorset is seeking a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist to join the Immunology Department at Royal Bournemouth Hospital. This Band 5, full-time role offers the chance to work across ISO15189:2022 accredited laboratory supporting diagnostic and monitoring services within the One Dorset Pathology network.

You will undertake analysis of blood, body fluids, tissues and cells, support training of learners, contribute to CPD and stay updated with immunology developments, with

Qualifications

• HCPC registration is required to practice.
• Honours degree in a biological science acceptable by IBMS.
• Completion of IBMS Registration Portfolio.
• Willing and able to relocate to the area.
• Experience in Clinical Immunology and NHS UKAS approved laboratory is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Act in a scientific role analyzing blood, body fluids, tissues and cells to diagnose disease and monitor treatment.
• Manage day-to-day organisation and delivery of a clinical pathology service.
• Assist in teaching and development of trainee staff.
• Maintain CPD and knowledge of developments in Immunology.
