Job summary

St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a permanent Band 6 Biomedical Scientist to join the Immunology team. Based primarily in automated biochemistry, with potential cross-site work across SWLP labs. You will contribute to a dynamic, 24/7 service after initial training and engage in CPD to maintain HCPC registration.

The role involves specialist diagnostic work, staff training, and contributing to quality management and audits within the SWLP network.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration is essential.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience at Band 5.
• Membership of a professional body.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist clinical technical services to patients and assist with research and audits.
• Contribute to delivering a professional clinical laboratory service as part of the department.
• Perform core scientific and interpretive work in immunology per training as a Registered Biomedical Scientist.
• Assist in training and supervising staff and deputising for senior staff when needed.
• Work within UKAS quality management systems and maintain documentation.
