Job summary

Health Care Support Worker Immunisation Team in Saltney is recruiting 2 x 22.5 hours per week posts. The role supports the immunisation team delivering vaccines to school aged children and travelling across Wrexham and Flintshire from Saltney Health Clinic.

The post holder will work as part of the nasal flu programme and offer all school vaccinations including HPV, DTP, MenACWY and MMR. A Welsh language ability is desirable, and both Welsh and English speakers are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Must hold Level 3 NVQ/QCF (a health care associated certificate)
• Introduction to Immunisation Training Course for HCSW (or be prepared to undertake)
• Basic Life Support training or work towards
• Anaphylaxis training or work towards
• Understand the lines of accountability and have insight into limitations of this role
• Numeracy and literacy skills
• Evidence of continuing personal development relevant to the role in health care
• Knowledge of the Immunisation public health agenda

Responsibilities

• Visit schools and other community settings to deliver immunisations to school aged children.
• Travel between sites across Wrexham and Flintshire.
• Deliver the nasal flu programme to all school aged children; participate in high school vaccinations (HPV, DTP, Men ACWY, MMR).
• Welsh language ability is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers welcome to apply.
