Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for an immediate-start position in Ipswich, supporting pupils aged 5–16 with complex Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD).

The role involves 1:1 and small-group support, collaboration with teachers, and promoting a nurturing, structured learning environment. Candidates with SEN experience are preferred; transferable experience will be considered.

Qualifications

• Previous SEN experience preferred.
• Transferable experience with children, young people or individuals with additional needs will be considered.
• Patient, resilient and confident in supporting pupils with complex needs.
• Able to build positive and trusting relationships with children.
• Full driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils aged 5–16 with complex MLD and additional needs.
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support both inside and outside the classroom.
• Supporting learning, communication, engagement and personal development.
• Working closely with teachers and the wider support team.
• Helping create a safe, inclusive and positive environment for all pupils.
• Supporting pupils with individual needs and encouraging their independence.
