Job summary

GSL Education is recruiting a Secondary Science Teacher for a school in Oldham with an immediate start. The role covers KS3 and KS4, teaching Biology, Chemistry and Physics and offers long-term supply opportunities.

You will deliver engaging lessons, manage practicals, assess progress and support GCSE outcomes, while maintaining safeguarding and working within the department.

QTS is essential, a degree in Science, and experience teaching in secondary schools; ECTs and NQTs are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) essential.
• Degree in Science or related subject (Biology, Chemistry or Physics).
• Experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4 in a secondary school.
• Confident behaviour management and classroom organisation.
• ECTs and NQTs welcome to apply.
• Available to start immediately.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging science lessons across KS3 and KS4, in line with the National Curriculum and GCSE specifications.
• Teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics, with the opportunity to teach within your specialism.
• Deliver safe, well-organised practical lessons, including required practicals, following departmental risk assessments.
• Assess pupil progress, mark work and provide clear feedback to support GCSE outcomes.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy.
• Support pupils with SEND through adaptive teaching and work closely with the science department and SENCO.
• Follow school safeguarding procedures at all times.
