TeacherActive is seeking a dedicated Modern Foreign Languages Teacher to join a Buckinghamshire secondary school for immediate sickness-cover work. The role is 32 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, teaching French and Spanish across the secondary age range.

Applicants must have QTS and substantial secondary teaching experience, with the ability to deliver Spanish up to A-Level and GCSE content as required. Commitment to high standards of teaching and safeguarding is essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
• Substantial experience teaching within a secondary school.
• Strong knowledge of French and Spanish.
• Ability to teach Spanish up to A-Level.
• Experience delivering GCSE French and Spanish.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Strong safeguarding awareness and DBS compliance.
• The right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Teach French and Spanish across the secondary age range.
• Teach Spanish up to A-Level.
• Deliver GCSE French and Spanish content where required.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons covering speaking, listening, reading and writing.
• Follow the school’s existing curriculum and schemes of work.
• Differentiated lessons according to pupils’ abilities.
• Support students preparing for GCSE and A-Level examinations.
• Assess, monitor and record pupil progress; provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, participation and achievement.
• Create a positive and engaging classroom environment.
• Build strong professional relationships with pupils and colleagues.
• Provide continuity of learning during sickness cover.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and prioritise pupil wellbeing.
