Are you an experienced MFL Teacher looking for an immediate opportunity where you can deliver engaging and high-quality language lessons?

TeacherActive is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced MFL Teacher to join a secondary school in Buckingham, Buckinghamshire, for an immediate start.

This is a temporary ongoing position providing sickness cover on a timesheet basis. The successful MFL Teacher will work Monday to Thursday, 32 hours per week, teaching both French and Spanish across the secondary curriculum.

The school is looking for a confident and experienced MFL Teacher who can provide continuity for pupils throughout the period of absence. The ability to teach both French and Spanish is essential, with candidates required to confidently deliver Spanish up to A-Level.

As an MFL Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons that develop pupils’ speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. You will support students across a range of abilities, adapting and differentiating lessons to ensure pupils remain engaged and make strong academic progress.

You will maintain high expectations for behaviour, participation and achievement while following the school’s existing curriculum and schemes of work. Strong classroom management and the ability to quickly establish positive relationships with pupils will be essential.

You will also assess and monitor pupil progress, provide constructive feedback and support students preparing for formal examinations, including GCSE and A-Level Spanish.

The successful MFL Teacher will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
• Substantial experience teaching within a secondary school setting
• Strong subject knowledge in French and Spanish
• The ability to teach Spanish up to A-Level – essential
• Experience teaching French across the secondary curriculum
• Experience delivering GCSE-level French and Spanish
• Confidence supporting pupils preparing for GCSE and A-Level examinations
• The ability to plan engaging and differentiated language lessons
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• The ability to establish positive relationships with pupils
• A professional, reliable and adaptable approach
• Strong teamwork skills
• A strong understanding of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
• The right to work in the UK

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach French and Spanish across the secondary age range
• Teach Spanish up to A-Level
• Deliver GCSE French and Spanish content where required
• Plan and deliver engaging speaking, listening, reading and writing activities
• Follow the school’s curriculum and existing schemes of work
• Differentiate lessons according to pupils’ abilities and learning needs
• Support students preparing for GCSE and A-Level examinations
• Assess, monitor and record pupil progress
• Provide constructive and timely feedback
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement
• Create a positive and engaging classroom environment
• Build strong professional relationships with pupils and colleagues
• Work collaboratively with colleagues within the department
• Provide continuity of learning throughout the sickness cover period
• Follow safeguarding procedures and prioritise pupil wellbeing
