Job summary

TeacherActive Limited is working with a mainstream secondary school in Caerphilly to recruit a Teaching Assistant / HLTA for a long-term temporary role with an immediate start. You will support pupils with emotional and behavioural needs, maintain positive engagement in learning and work with staff to manage challenging situations.

The role requires a relevant TA/HLTA qualification (desirable) and experience in secondary settings. Competitive day rates and ongoing CPD are on offer.

Qualifications

• Experience managing challenging behaviour and providing emotional support to pupils with additional learning needs.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Patient, resilient and adaptable with a caring approach to learners.

Responsibilities

• Provide emotional and behavioural support to pupils, both 1:1 and in small groups.
• Work closely with teaching and support staff to deliver learning activities.
• Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and engage positively in class.
