Job summary

BT Group is seeking an Identity & Access Management Product Lead to own the vision, strategy, governance and roadmaps for IAM capabilities across BT Business. This principal-level role combines deep IAM expertise with strategic product ownership to shape long-term priorities and partner with Digital teams for secure, scalable identity experiences.

You'll balance customer experience, security, compliance and commercial outcomes while delivering identity-enabled growth and digital transformation.

Qualifications

  • Deep IAM expertise shaping identity capabilities in a large, complex org.
  • Proven experience leading a product, platform or service with strategy and governance.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders to translate business needs into value- adding solutions.
  • IGA knowledge and authentication/authorization frameworks desirable.
  • Experience in identity within digital transformation programmes.
  • Agile and product-led environments experience desirable.
  • Governance, risk and regulatory requirements relating to access management.
  • Stakeholder engagement and adoption of new capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive IAM strategy across BT Business.
  • Own and prioritise Identity roadmap, aligning investment with outcomes.
  • Act as business owner for identity demand, gathering and prioritising requirements.
  • Partner with Digital teams to shape roadmaps and delivery priorities, ensuring value.
  • Establish governance standards, access models and RBAC.
  • Improve identity journeys balancing usability, security and compliance.
  • Monitor performance and adoption, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Build relationships across CX, Product, Digital, Security and Group Identity teams.
  • Champion simplification and innovation while maintaining controls.

About the role

Identity is a critical capability underpinning every customer, partner and colleague interaction across BT Business. As our Identity & Access Management Product Lead, you will own the business vision, strategy, governance and roadmap for identity and role-based access management capabilities.

This is a Principal-level leadership role, combining deep IAM expertise with strategic product ownership. You'll shape long-term priorities, influence investment decisions and partner with Digital teams to deliver secure, scalable and customer-centric identity experiences.

Working within the Customer Experience team, you'll balance customer experience, commercial outcomes, security requirements and technical feasibility while ensuring identity remains a key enabler of growth, self-service and digital transformation.

What you’ll be doing
  • Define and drive the Identity & Access Management strategy across BT Business.
  • Own and prioritise the Identity roadmap, aligning investment and delivery with business and customer outcomes.
  • Act as the business owner for identity demand, gathering and prioritising requirements across BT Business.
  • Partner with Digital teams to shape roadmaps and delivery priorities, ensuring identity capabilities deliver business value.
  • Establish governance standards, access models and role-based access principles.
  • Improve customer and colleague identity journeys, balancing usability, security and compliance.
  • Monitor performance and adoption, identifying opportunities for optimisation and future investment.
  • Build strong relationships across Customer Experience, Product, Digital, Security and Group Identity teams.
  • Champion simplification and innovation, reducing friction while maintaining effective controls.
Essential Skills / Experience
  • Deep expertise in Identity & Access Management (IAM), Identity Governance, CIAM and role-based access management, with experience shaping identity capabilities in a large, complex organisation.
  • Proven experience leading a product, platform, capability or service, including ownership of strategy, roadmap, governance and prioritisation.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and delivery teams to translate business needs into solutions that balance customer experience, security, compliance and commercial outcomes.
Desirable Skills / Experience
  • Knowledge of Identity Governance & Administration (IGA), authentication and authorisation frameworks.
  • Experience designing customer or colleague identity experiences within digital transformation programmes.
  • Experience working in Agile and product-led environments.
  • Knowledge of governance, risk and regulatory requirements relating to access management.
  • Experience driving stakeholder engagement, change and adoption of new capabilities.
