Job summary

Valley Park School in Maidstone, Kent seeks an apprentice to support maintenance, security and development of the ICT and network infrastructure, gaining hands-on experience as a Level 4 Network Engineer.

You will install, configure and troubleshoot wired and wireless networks, manage Active Directory and Microsoft 365, and collaborate with staff to support teaching and learning.

The role offers dedicated training, a 37.5 hour week, and a clear progression path within the school's IT services.

Qualifications

• A-Level ICT or equivalent required for entry
• IB Level 3 ICT accepted as alternative
• A-Level 3 apprenticeship in ICT acceptable
• BTEC Extended Diploma in IT (180 credits) accepted

Responsibilities

• Support installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of the school's wired and wireless network infrastructure
• Monitor network performance, availability and security, identifying faults or escalations
• Assist with network configuration including IP addressing, DHCP, DNS, VLANs and connected devices
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and records of work undertaken
