Job summary

The ICT Helpdesk Technician at South Ayrshire Council provides Level 1 user support for the ICT helpdesk, handling requests across face-to-face, telephone, email and online channels. You will analyse and either resolve or escalate requests rapidly, and may undertake ICT project tasks as assigned.

Based in Ayr, you will work from an office location as part of a team delivering reliable IT services to council staff, with PVG scheme requirements and potential costs to consider.

Qualifications

• PVG Scheme membership is required or to be updated prior to offer.
• Post is temporary until 29/10/2027.
• Grade of this post is Level 7.
• Working style is Office worker and you will be based at a designated office location.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 1 (first-line) ICT helpdesk support across face-to-face, telephone, email and online channels.
• Analyse requests quickly and resolve or reallocate/escalate when unresolved at Level 1.
• Undertake ICT project tasks as assigned.
