Job summary

Intertek in Farnborough is seeking an ICP-MS Analyst to join the Fuels & Lubricants laboratory. You will prepare and analyze fuel, lubricant, oil and related petroleum samples using ICP-MS and related analytical techniques, ensuring accuracy, safety and timely results in a fast-paced commercial environment.

You will develop and validate methods, interpret data, advise clients on testing approaches, and maintain calibration and quality systems in line with international standards.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Chemistry or analytical sciences.
• Practical ICP-MS laboratory experience.
• Experience with sample preparation and dilution for complex matrices.
• Strong IT literacy (Word/Excel).
• Understanding calibration, quality control and data interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Undertake and co-ordinate ICP-MS testing using established test methods.
• Interpretation of test data and provision of conclusions based on results.
• Provide advice to customers on testing methods and product analysis.
• Maintenance of equipment and development/commissioning of new methods and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with quality and accreditation procedures.
