East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Acute Stroke Nurse to develop as a senior staff/stroke specialist on the Stroke Unit at Colchester Hospital. You will lead high‑quality stroke care as part of a multi‑professional team delivering 24/7 hyper‑acute care with full induction and training.

The role requires Band 5 experience in stroke care or acute medicine and a commitment to teaching, mentoring and improving patient outcomes in line with national

Qualifications

• Band 5 experience in stroke care or acute medicine.
• Ability to work autonomously and make swift clinical judgments.
• Evidence of teaching, mentoring and supporting other staff.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and co-ordinate the Acute Stroke Pathway with the Stroke Advanced Clinical Practitioner and Stroke Unit Manager.
• deputise for the Senior nursing team as needed and oversee patient journey from admission to community return.
• Communicate effectively with the MDT and develop clinical skills in staff through coaching.
• Set, implement and audit evidence‑based standards of care and treatment.
