Job summary

Fowler Welch is seeking a reliable Hygiene Operative to join the team at the Teynham site on a full-time, permanent basis. The role focuses on maintaining high cleanliness, safety and presentation across a busy logistics environment.

Shifts are 12 hours from 06:00 to 18:00, Sunday to Wednesday. Competitive hourly rates apply, with overtime opportunities. This is a great chance to contribute to a well-established supply chain specialist across the UK.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in hygiene/cleaning or facilities environments is beneficial.
• A positive, hands-on approach with the ability to work well as part of a team.
• Comfortable working outdoors for long periods and in a chilled warehouse.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a busy, fast-paced environment.
• Confidence using cleaning equipment such as jet wash systems after training.
• Strong awareness of Health & Safety for yourself and others.
• Flexibility to support the site during peak periods (e.g., holidays).

Responsibilities

• Carry out hygiene and cleaning duties across the site, including external yard areas, loading bays, vehicles and warehouse facilities.
• Maintain a clean-as-you-go approach, ensuring hazards are identified and dealt with quickly and efficiently.
• Follow site practices in line with Fowler Welch's BRC policy, Health & Safety policy and HACCP plan.
• Use cleaning materials, chemicals and equipment safely, appropriately and economically, in line with training and instructions.
• Proactively identify and report defects, damage or maintenance issues to your line manager.
• Work at height where required, once trained and competent.
• Wear the correct PPE at all times, particularly during external yard duties.
• Support the wider Facilities and Site teams when required, subject to appropriate training and knowledge.
