Job summary

Fowler Welch is seeking a Hygiene Operative for our Teynham site near Sittingbourne. This full-time, permanent role involves cleaning across a busy logistics site, following health, safety, and HACCP guidelines.

Shift pattern is Sundays to Wednesdays, 12-hour days 06:00–18:00. Pay is £12.71–£15.25 per hour with overtime at £15.25. The job requires outdoor work, PPE, and teamwork within a chilled warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in hygiene, cleaning, warehouse, logistics, or facilities is beneficial.
• Positive, hands-on team player.
• Willing to work outdoors and in a chilled warehouse environment when required.
• Able to work to deadlines in a busy, fast-paced setting.
• Confidence with jet wash equipment and cleaning tools with training.
• Strong Health & Safety awareness for self and others.
• Flexible to cover peak periods, including holidays.

Responsibilities

• Carry out hygiene and cleaning duties across the site, including yard areas, loading bays, vehicles and warehouse facilities.
• Maintain a clean-as-you-go approach, identify hazards and address them quickly.
• Follow site practices in line with BRC policy, Health & Safety and HACCP.
• Use cleaning materials and equipment safely and economically as trained.
• Identify and report defects or maintenance issues to the line manager.
• Work at height when trained and competent.
• Wear required PPE at all times, especially for outdoor duties.
• Support wider Facilities and Site teams when needed.
