Job summary

Samworth Brothers in Leicester is seeking a Hygiene Team Leader to guide a shift-based team responsible for keeping production areas clean, safe, and ready for use. You will ensure tasks are completed to standard and on time, support the team, and collaborate with Production and other on-site teams.

The role requires experience in food production or hygiene, STH leadership or supportive experience, strong knowledge of food safety, and meticulous attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Experience in food production or a hygiene role.
• Experience of leading or supporting a team.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene and safety.
• Good attention to detail.
• Level 3 Food Safety and/or HACCP Certificate would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the Hygiene Team during each shift.
• Plan and share cleaning tasks with the team
• Check production areas and equipment after cleaning
• Make sure cleaning schedules and records are completed
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment in line with site rules
• Report hygiene, safety, or equipment issues to the right team
• Support deep cleans, changeovers, and planned shutdowns
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and health and safety rules at all times

About The Role

As a Hygiene Team Leader, you will lead a team to keep our food production areas clean, safe, and ready for use. You will make sure cleaning tasks are done to the right standard and on time.
