Job summary

Pilgrim's Europe in Westerleigh is seeking a Hygiene Team Leader to join our site. You will assist the departmental Supervisor with daily running of the hygiene area and ensure compliance with Company hygiene standards, policies and procedures.

Shift pattern is rotating weekly with start times 05:00-13:45 and 08:45-17:30. You will help maintain clean facilities, train staff, monitor attendance, and ensure records and equipment are properly handled, while supporting the Hygiene Manager.

Qualifications

• Ability to lead a small team in a fast-paced hygiene environment.
• Knowledge of hygiene standards, policies and procedures.
• Understanding of health and safety and COSHH requirements.
• Experience with food production areas and equipment.
• Capable of training and supervising staff effectively.

Responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with Company hygiene standards, policies, and procedures within designated areas.
• Ensure equipment/goods issued to customers/hauliers is recorded as per management systems.
• Ensure all documentation and records are completed in full.
• Ensure safe operation of all equipment in the areas of responsibility; report faults.
• Keep external areas clean and containers emptied daily or as required.
• Carry out audits of area conditions and report damage or repair needs promptly.
• Ensure adequate staffing, manage holidays and sickness, and report shortfalls.
• Ensure staff are trained; identify training needs and monitor training impact.

Job description

We are looking for a talented individual to join our team at our Westerleigh site to fill a Hygiene Team Leader vacancy.

Location

Westerleigh, BS37 8QZ

Shift pattern

rotating on weekly basis, with start times below:

• 05:00am - 13:45pm
• 08:45am - 17:30pm

Assisting the departmental Supervisor with overseeing the daily running of the area the key responsibilities include:

• Ensure full compliance with all Company hygiene standards, policies, and procedures within designated areas, consistently achieving and maintaining the required standards at all times.
• Ensuring any equipment/goods issued to any customer/haulier is recorded in keeping with the management systems in place.
• Ensuring all documentation and records are completed in full.
• Ensuring safe operation of all equipment designated to the areas of responsibility and report any equipment that is not operating efficiently to the Management team.
• Ensuring that all areas of the site outside of the building are kept litter free, including ensuring containers stationed at various points around the site are emptied daily or as frequently as required.
• Carrying out frequent audits of condition of areas of responsibility and report any damage or repair requirements immediately to the Management team.
• Ensure there are suitable staff levels, that holiday and sickness absence is managed and report any shortfalls to the Hygiene Manager.
• Ensure all employees are appropriately trained. This responsibility includes identification of training needs, recommending training, monitoring and evaluating the effect of the training

Ideally Candidates Will

• Be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Have knowledge and experience of working with food production machinery.
• Have Health & Safety awareness.
• Have COSHH awareness.
