Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a Cleaning Manager to supervise and develop the hygiene teams across the Knottingley site. You will monitor standards, allocate tasks, recruit and coach staff, maintain hygiene, and liaise with store representatives to ensure a consistently high level of service.

The role requires a proven background in managing cleaning teams, strong customer service, and the ability to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Must have right to work in the UK.
• Previous experience as Cleaning Manager or Supervisor is desirable.
• Experience in staffing, rotas, training, and basic HR compliance is desirable.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise, with flexibility in hours.
• Excellent attention to detail is required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure hygiene standards across the site.
• Allocate tasks and responsibilities to the cleaning team to meet site requirements.
• Maintain high standards by monitoring completed work and making improvements.
• Recruit and coach the cleaning team to achieve best results through open conversations.
• Communicate daily with store representatives to resolve issues and build positive relationships.
• Maintain budgets for equipment, stock, and rota planning.
• Lead inductions covering health and safety training and role expectations.
• Ensure all employee training is recorded in line with company policies.
• Handle grievance, disciplinary or welfare matters with area management and HR support.
• Report sickness accurately and manage absence levels.
• Deliver an effective and efficient service to customers.

Responsibilities

• Responsibility for monitoring and ensuring that all aspects of the hygiene teams’ activities, maintaining continuous hygiene standards.
• Allocate tasks and responsibilities to the cleaning team to meet site requirements.
• To maintain high standards by monitoring the work completed and making any changes for improvement
• Recruit and coach the cleaning team to achieve best results by having open and continuous conversations together for development
• Communicate daily with store representatives to resolve issues and build positive working relationships.
• Maintain budgets for use of all equipment, stock and on rota planning.
• Lead colleague inductions covering health and safety training and role expectations
• Ensure all employee training is recorded in line with company policies
• Handle grievance, disciplinary or welfare matters as required with the support of the area management team and HR.
• Accurately report sickness and ensure absence levels are managed correctly
• Other duties reasonably expected to deliver an effective and efficient service to our customer
