Job summary

Pilgrim’s Europe in Hyde, Cheshire is seeking a Hygiene Operative (Traywash) to join our fast-paced food manufacturing team. You will ensure trays, tote bins and equipment are cleaned to the highest hygiene standards, supporting production and maintaining GMP.

This full-time role offers a 37.5-hour week with 06:00–14:00 and 14:00–22:00 shifts, Monday to Friday, with competitive pay and potential weekly earnings over £500.

Qualifications

• Meet essential customer and technical standards for cleaning equipment and areas.
• Dismantle, re-assemble and clean equipment to the hygiene standard.
• Follow GMP and Clean-As-You-Go practices.
• Carry out daily cleaning and production records.
• Report faults or hygiene concerns to the appropriate department.
• Work safely with tray wash equipment and maintain waste control.

Responsibilities

• Operate the tray wash machine safely and efficiently.
• Clean trays, tote bins and equipment to the required hygiene standards.
• Carry out quality checks to ensure cleaned items meet site requirements.
• Complete daily cleaning and production records accurately.
• Report equipment faults or hygiene concerns to the appropriate department.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area in line with GMP and Clean-As-You-Go standards.
• Support Production by ensuring a continuous supply of clean trays and tote bins.
• Assist with maintaining external site areas, including waste bins and litter control.
• Follow all Health & Safety, food safety, PPE and hygiene requirements at all times.
• Work effectively as part of a team and undertake reasonable additional duties as required.

Balanced Schedule

We have a shift pattern of working 37.5 hours a week 06.00am-14.00pm / 14.00pm - 22.00pm Monday to Friday shift pattern, giving you more time for yourself.
