Great Bear (Part of the Culina Group) provides distribution services to FMCG clients. Customer-centric service focus is delivered through a site-level empowered culture.

Position: Hygiene Operative

We are now looking for a Hygiene Operative to join our team at Great Bear Harworth on a full-time and permanent basis.

Shift and Salary

Shift: Monday - Friday, AM and PM weekly rotation.

Salary: £12.21 per hour.

Job Description

The role-holder will be responsible for and undertake the following tasks:

  1. Ensure all practices and procedures are carried out in line with Fowler Welch’s BRC policy - Health & Safety policy and HACCP plan.
  2. Maintain a high level of cleanliness throughout the facility, paying attention to fixtures, fittings, and signage.
  3. Empty bins daily; bale and move polythene waste to the designated area for collection.
  4. Sweep and wash floors in line with the hygiene schedule.
  5. Perform detailed cleaning of warehouse barrier work, racking, and picking slots to ensure food safety and hygiene standards.
  6. Document all work activities.
  7. Proactively identify and report any defects or maintenance issues to the line manager.
  8. Maintain a clean-as-you-go attitude and address potential hazards promptly and efficiently.
  9. Use cleaning materials appropriately, as instructed and economically.
  10. Operate electrical/mechanical equipment such as floor scrubbers and washers after relevant training.
  11. Work at heights safely.
  12. Use only approved cleaning materials, following manufacturers’ instructions and COSHH regulations.
  13. Be aware of health and safety for self and others at all times.
  14. Support wider Facilities and Site functions as required, subject to appropriate training.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a cleaner.
  • Experience working within a logistics/warehouse environment.
  • A can-do attitude.
  • Ability to work at heights for extended periods.
  • High reliability.
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Ability to meet challenging deadlines in a pressurized environment.
