Job summary

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a Night Hygiene Operative to join a growing team in Ilminster. The role focuses on cleaning and sanitising production areas to meet hygiene and safety standards in a busy food production environment.

The position offers a night schedule (Mon-Thu, 6:30pm-4:00am) with a basic hourly rate of £15.37 and a £50 overtime bonus. It suits a reliable cleaner who takes pride in high standards and works well within a team. Training and ongoing support are provided.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high hygiene standards.
• Ability to follow cleaning procedures and health & safety guidelines.
• Confidence working with cleaning chemicals and power washing equipment.
• Good communication skills.
• Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Experience in hygiene, industrial cleaning or food production is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out thorough cleaning and sanitising of production and packing areas.
• Washing down production machinery and equipment in line with hygiene and food safety procedures.
• Cleaning drains, floors, walls and other designated areas to maintain site cleanliness.
• Operating power washers and other cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
• Following cleaning schedules, hygiene standards and health & safety procedures at all times.
• Ensuring equipment, machinery and workspaces meet the required hygiene standards before production resumes.
• Working closely with colleagues and supervisors to support operational requirements and maintain a safe working environment.
