Drnewitt in the United Kingdom is seeking a dedicated Hygiene Operative to join its food manufacturing operations. This full-time, permanent role offers 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5pm, and a salary of £26,500 per annum.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing or commercial cleaning environment.
  • Good understanding of hygiene standards within food production.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining excellent cleaning standards.
  • Knowledge of COSHH and safe chemical handling (training can be provided).
  • Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene qualification is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Deep clean production equipment, machinery, work surfaces, and floors.
  • Complete daily and weekly cleaning schedules and hygiene checklists.
  • Clean utensils, trays, trolleys, and production equipment.
  • Safely handle cleaning chemicals in accordance with COSHH guidelines.
  • Carry out changeover cleaning between production runs.
  • Maintain cleanliness in staff facilities, including toilets, break areas, and storage rooms.
  • Report any hygiene concerns or damaged equipment promptly.
  • Keep accurate cleaning records to support food safety audits.
  • Follow all hygiene, health and safety, and food manufacturing procedures.

A well-established food manufacturing business is seeking a dedicated Hygiene Operative to join its operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous food production or commercial cleaning experience who takes pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene.

You’ll play a vital role in ensuring production and warehouse areas remain clean, safe, and audit-ready, helping to maintain exceptional food safety standards across the business.

The Role

Working closely with the production team, you will be responsible for maintaining hygiene standards throughout manufacturing, storage, and communal areas, ensuring all cleaning tasks are completed thoroughly and in line with food industry regulations.

  • Able to lift items of up to 20kg.
  • Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals while using appropriate PPE.
  • Flexible to support occasional weekend work during audits or scheduled deep cleans.
