Job summary

Staffline is recruiting Hygiene Operatives for night shifts in Andover. You will perform thorough cleaning and sanitising of production equipment and facilities to uphold strict food safety standards.

The role is full-time with night hours (4pm–12am) and overtime opportunities; on-site parking, uniform, PPE and full training are provided to support a smooth start.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail required to clean and sanitise production areas to strict food safety standards.
• Understand COSHH and safety procedures; wear PPE correctly and operate cleaning equipment.
• Work closely with colleagues to complete cleaning schedules within tight timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitise machinery used in food production and ensure readiness for next shift.
• Deep clean floors, walls, drains, surfaces, conveyors and production areas.
• Handle detergents and disinfectants safely per COSHH and company rules.
• Maintain HACCP and food safety standards; complete hygiene records for audits.
• Report damaged equipment, leaks or safety hazards and support start-up activities.

Staffline are recruiting for Hygiene Operatives in Andover

Rate of pay is £14.22 per hour.

Overtime is available and is paid at £21.33 per hour.

This is a full-time role working fixed night shifts and the hours of work are: 4pm to 12am (Midnight).

Your Time at Work

As a Night Hygiene Operative you would typically carry out the following roles and responsibilities:

Cleaning Production Equipment

• Cleaning & sanitising machinery used in food production.
• Ensuring equipment is ready for the next production shift.

Factory Deep Cleaning

• Cleaning floors, walls, drains, work surfaces, conveyors, and production areas using industrial cleaning equipment.
• Removing food debris and preventing contamination.

Using Cleaning Chemicals Safely

• Handling detergents, disinfectants, and other cleaning agents in line with COSHH and company procedures.
• Wearing the correct PPE and following safety guidelines.

Maintaining Food Safety and Hygiene Standards

• Ensuring all areas meet hygiene, HACCP, and food safety requirements.
• Completing hygiene records and helping the site remain audit-ready.

Reporting and Supporting Operations

• Reporting damaged equipment, leaks, blockages, or safety hazards.
• Completing cleaning schedules on time to support efficient factory start-up each

• Attention to Detail- The role requires thorough cleaning and sanitising of equipment and production areas to strict food safety standards. Missing even a small area could create a contamination risk.
• Health & Safety Awareness - Candidates must safely use cleaning chemicals, follow COSHH procedures, wear PPE correctly, and operate cleaning equipment while adhering to food manufacturing regulations.
• Teamwork and Reliability- Hygiene operatives work closely with colleagues to complete cleaning schedules within strict timeframes so that production can restart on time. Being dependable and willing to support others is essential.

Please note, this is a physical role with elements of manual handling involved.
